Refund policy

Last updated: 8 October 2026

We want you to get the right part and a fair resolution if something goes wrong. This policy explains your rights when buying from Eamon Bishop & Sons Limited, trading as Rebel Performance, at Bishop Motors, Newry Road, Dundalk, Co. Louth, A91 TY77, Ireland.

For cancellations, returns or faulty products, email info@rebelperformance.ie or call +353 42 933 8312.

For most online consumer purchases: tell us within 14 days of receiving your goods if you wish to cancel, then send them back within a further 14 days. Faulty or misdescribed goods have separate rights, which continue beyond that change-of-mind period.

1. Your statutory rights

This policy applies to consumers buying wholly or mainly for purposes outside their trade, business or profession. Nothing here restricts your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2022, as amended, or other applicable consumer law. Any additional manufacturer warranty is separate from those rights.

Sale and discounted items have the same statutory protection. If you are buying for a business, any agreed business terms apply, subject to rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence are not removed by this policy.

2. Cancelling an online purchase because you changed your mind

For most goods ordered online or by phone, you may cancel without giving a reason. Notify us before the end of the 14-day cancellation period, counted from the day after you, or someone you nominate other than the carrier, receives the goods. If goods from a single order arrive separately, the period runs from receipt of the last item, lot or piece, as applicable. You may also cancel before delivery.

Email us, write to the business address above, or send another clear statement that you wish to cancel. Include your name, order number or enough information to identify the purchase, and the items you are cancelling. The model form below is available, but you do not have to use it. Keep a copy or other evidence of your notice.

Online cancellation: Withdraw from contract here. Sign in using the email address from your order and the code sent to that address. Open the order, choose Cancel items, Return items or Cancel or return, select the relevant items, then review and confirm your request. You will receive an email acknowledging your request before we review it. Submitting a request records your notice; it does not issue an immediate refund.

You do not need our approval to exercise a valid statutory cancellation right. Contacting us about return arrangements or a returns reference does not change your deadline or make cancellation conditional on a reply.

3. Sending goods back

Unless we have agreed to collect them, send the goods back without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you tell us you are cancelling. The deadline is met if you send them before that period ends.

Returns address: Rebel Performance, Bishop Motors, Newry Road, Dundalk, Co. Louth, A91 TY77, Ireland. Contact us for the appropriate arrangements, especially for large or heavy parts. Please do not send goods directly to a manufacturer unless we arrange it with you.

For a change-of-mind cancellation, you pay the direct return postage cost where we told you this before purchase, unless we have agreed to cover it. For goods that cannot normally be returned by post, we will cover return costs unless we disclosed the cost or a reasonable maximum estimate before you placed the order. We cover the necessary return costs for faulty, incorrect or misdescribed goods.

Pack the goods securely, include supplied accessories and identifying order information, and keep proof of sending. Tracking is recommended. Please use the original packaging where available; it is not an absolute condition of your statutory rights.

4. Inspection, fitting and condition

You may inspect goods to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning, as you reasonably could in a shop. Where the law permits, we may deduct an evidenced reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary for that inspection.

Fitting, welding, cutting, modifying or using a part on a vehicle can reduce its value beyond ordinary inspection. This does not automatically remove a cancellation right, but may affect the refund where a lawful deduction applies. We will explain any proposed deduction. We do not charge a flat restocking, administration or cancellation fee for a statutory cancellation.

Check the part and fitment information before installation and contact us if something appears wrong. Installation or opening packaging does not remove your rights where the goods were faulty or did not match the contract.

5. Refunds for change-of-mind cancellations

We will refund sums due without undue delay and within 14 days of receiving your cancellation notice. For returned goods, we may withhold the refund until we receive the goods or evidence that you sent them back, whichever happens first, unless we have offered to collect them.

If you cancel the whole order, this includes the original delivery charge up to the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option. Additional costs for an express or premium delivery option you chose are not refundable under the statutory cancellation right.

Refunds use the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a refund fee. We will not require you to accept store credit instead of a refund you are legally entitled to receive.

6. Genuinely customised products

The statutory change-of-mind cancellation right does not normally apply to goods made to your individual specifications or clearly personalised, such as a part fabricated to your own measurements. We will identify a relevant exception before you order.

A standard catalogue part is not excluded merely because it is described as “special order”, is obtained from a supplier for your order, or is not held in stock. Choosing a standard product or fitment option does not, by itself, make the product personalised.

Customised goods must still match the agreed specification and meet legal quality requirements. Your rights for faults, misdescription, non-delivery or other breach of contract continue to apply.

7. Faulty, damaged, incorrect or misdescribed goods

Contact us with your order details and a description of the problem. Photos can help but are not a condition of your rights. Stop using a product if continued use could be unsafe or cause further damage. We may need a reasonable opportunity to inspect it.

  • Within the first 30 days: if the goods do not meet the contract, you generally have a short-term right to terminate the purchase and obtain a full refund. Tell us about the issue and that you wish to use that right within the applicable period. You do not have to accept a repair or replacement instead.
  • After the short-term period: you can normally choose a repair or replacement, unless the chosen remedy is impossible or disproportionate under the law. It must be provided free of charge, within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience.
  • Where repair or replacement is unavailable or unsuccessful: or where the fault is sufficiently serious or another statutory condition is met, you may be entitled to a proportionate price reduction or to terminate and receive a refund. A minor fault does not ordinarily entitle you to terminate the contract.

For faults that become apparent within the first 12 months, the law generally presumes the problem existed when the goods were supplied unless the contrary is proved or that presumption is incompatible with the goods or the fault. Rights do not automatically expire after 12 months or when a commercial warranty ends.

We are responsible for resolving statutory claims against us as the seller; we will not require you to deal solely with the manufacturer. We cover the necessary postage, collection and other costs of a statutory remedy. Where legally required for correctly installed goods, this includes removal and reinstallation or those costs.

Please discuss proposed diagnostic, removal or repair work with us so we can arrange the appropriate remedy. This does not exclude costs you are legally entitled to recover. Third-party fitting does not itself invalidate a claim. We are not responsible under this policy for a problem caused solely by misuse, accidental damage or incorrect installation for which we are not responsible; an unrelated modification does not automatically remove your rights.

Any refund due for returned faulty goods is paid without undue delay and within 14 days after we receive them back, or earlier where we accept evidence of return, using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise. There is no refund fee. Normal wear consistent with the product's reasonable expected durability is different from a fault.

8. Delivery problems and services

Goods must arrive by the agreed delivery deadline or, if none was agreed, without undue delay and normally within 30 days of the contract. If delivery is late, you may give an appropriate extra period and cancel if it is still not met. You may cancel without an extra period where the law allows, including where delivery is refused or the agreed date was essential. Refunds are made as required by law. Your rights concerning goods lost or damaged before delivery are against us where we are responsible for the delivery.

If you buy a service directly from us online or by phone, a 14-day cancellation period normally runs from making the service contract. If you expressly request work during that period and receive the required information, a lawful proportionate charge may apply for work supplied before cancellation. The right is lost after full performance only where the required prior consent and acknowledgement have been obtained. This does not limit your rights concerning a faulty or misdescribed service.

For an in-person purchase where no statutory change-of-mind right applies, a change-of-mind return or exchange requires our agreement or an additional promise made at the time of sale. Rights concerning faulty or misdescribed goods still apply.

9. Exchanges and complaints

Contact us if you would prefer a different item. We will explain availability and any price difference. An optional exchange arrangement does not replace a refund right.

If you are unhappy with how a return or complaint has been handled, email info@rebelperformance.ie with your order details and the outcome you are seeking. You can obtain independent consumer information from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) and use any applicable dispute-resolution or court process.

10. Model cancellation form

Complete and return this only if you wish to cancel. You may send it by email or post. You can also cancel using any other clear statement.
